Project Jetta
This is my 1986 VW Jetta Carat.
This may seem like a funny car to start with(why not a GTi?). But let me explain... the "Carat" does actually mean something. It means that unlike regular Jetta GL's, this Jetta was manufactured in Germany at the Wolfsburg plant and not in the USA somewhere. Carat's also come fully loaded, with heated seats, sunroof, power windows, Power mirrors, 4 wheel disc brakes, a close ratio trans, rear headrests, etc. Which is all very nice, as I am building this car to be my true daily driver. So how is the Project coming? Nov 2006, Car is all together, currently plated and is my daily transportation. It makes 13 psi at 5900 rpm. Goes fairly well for a daily driven MKII Jetta. It has wonderful manners, starts easy, nice idle, quiet exhaust, supercharger is a bit loud over 3000rpm. Overall I'm fairly happy with the results. The Digifant Injection is a little clumsy though with the Neuspeed Chip, I think a good SNS stage 5 chip could sort it out, so that's in the cards. Intercooler is installed, but currently not plumbed, just got tired of working on it. When I start working on it again in spring it needs the suspension gone over, the I/C plumbed, and I want to send the charger off to Kompressor Kanada for a "tune up"
